So...anyone up for some Modern? Legacy? EDH?....A Cardfight?


Espeicaly cardfight, seems like we dont do that as often as we used to.

I might be up for it after I finish with Rod. Wanna watch? I'll do the cardfight. I haven't done that nearly often enough.

I would love to cardfight at some point.

Now that I've been practacing the game.

The Pro tour is still pretty good to watch.

Nice to learn about the Modern metagame.

Just a shame that so much attention goes towards Cifka. Eggs has to be one of the most boring decks to watch ever.

I do love watching the Jund mirror match though, hell I'd be willing to play or watch it for hours.

Would like to see something new though. Not Jund or Eggs. What else have they had so far?

I rememeber seeing at least 1 Infect.

U/W tempo, Scapeshift, Affinity and Infect were the other decks in the top 8.

Of all of those, U/W tempo and Jund are by a million miles the most interactive, followed by Affinity, the others just don't interact much. Scapeshift counters all your stuff then deals 21+ to you in a turn. Infect just kills you on turn 3 or fizzles. Eggs is just entirely uninteractive.

I might try out Affinity on cockatrice.

Since I have an infect deck left over from standard it shouldn't be too hard to make a modern one of that either

Personally, I'll stick to Jund, but given what everyone's been running this weekend it's making it really hard to fit everything in the deck, especially when I'm dead-set on playing 25 lands and not 24.

I would try that out but...All those fetches/Bobs/Goyfs/Thoughtsiezes are a little too much for my budget.

IRL, making Jund is virtually impossible for me. Thousands of bucks on cards.

Still one of the best decks I ever played with.

Also Yuuya is a great player.

The only deck I'd really want to go out and buy for modern would quite probably be Jund, just a shame it costs so damn much. Modern Masters should rectify that at least slightly though. It's just such a fun deck to play that requires quite a lot of thought during an actual game.

Oh and I'm not watching the finals. Eggs is just too dull for me to care enough about.

How much do you think the Masters will really take it down though? They said it was a limited print run. I would love for it a little cheaper to get into Modern so Im staying hopefull.

I wonder if they will do a Modern Set every year or so. Would be kind of cool

I intend on drafting it if I get a chance to, so I'm just hoping to pick up some cool cards (hopefully a Goyf, obviously).

Forsythe (idk if I spelled his name right) stated that if it's successful we can expect similar products in the future.

With all the dead cards, I fear for Yuuya, but I don't want Cifka to win. Eggs seems way too annoying to be truly fair...

Such a deck deserved to win, IMO. It's not fun to play against but it is HIGHLY skilled, more skilled than Jund can ever dream to be.

Memory has nothing to do with Egg.dek. It is all about skill. A few times he made mistakes that costed him a game, but most of the time he was flawless because he knew when to start comboing and how to proceed after each card draw.

If that is memory and not skill, I don't know what is skill.

All he has to do is remember what his hand needs to hold, and where an opposing deck can stand right before it kills him. There's no skill in cycling through a bunch of artifacts beyond that.

Did Cifka's deck even have creatures?
