Re: Doctor Who
- Spoiler:
- I thought it was speculated that the girl who turned out to be the crazy dalek was supposed to be his new companion, before they premiered that episode as well. I was kind of sad that it wasn't. But you did see someone new, Rory's dad. That is the Doctor's companion for some time.

Re: Doctor Who
- Spoiler:
- The ACTOR is confirmed to be the new companion. We have no clue if it'll be Oswin or not.
This episode was hilarious. Especially with those little quirky moments with the Doctor having a Christmas List and RIDING A DINOSAUR. And the ending with the dude getting left there was amazing.
Next week is about the "Gunslinger" who happens to be a Cyborg,

Re: Doctor Who
- Spoiler:
- Oswin's character is also confirmed as the companion. She will start in the Christmas special and The Ponds will leave episode 5. How exactly they plan to make that work is beyond me though.

Re: Doctor Who
- Spoiler:
- I'm on my phone. Give it to you when I can. Check IMDB though. She should be listed as Oswin for 2 episodes.
- Spoiler:
- Strike that. 10 episodes. And she has a first name. But last name status Oswin.

Re: Doctor Who
- Spoiler:
- Clara Oswin is the new companion. Oswin Oswald was the dalek in The Asylum of the Daleks.
Note that Rory, Amy or the Doctor never actually saw Oswin's face, and was just a visual representation of what she thought she remembered herself as. it would also give a possible explanation between Clara Oswin and Oswin Oswald. In her weird fantasy world, it's perfectly possible that she thought her name was Oswin Oswald rather than Clara Oswin.
But, as far as we're concerned, if she IS in fact the same character as the companion, the Doctor cannot meet her after the events of The Asylum of the Daleks, because she would be dead. Assuming that the Asylum of the Daleks is not a fixed point in time, the Doctor could easily meet her in the past, and therefore the Asylum of the Daleks would have never happened (and the Daleks don't have to forget the Doctor and be killed off from Doctor Who).

- Spoiler:
- You assume death has any sort of meaning to most characters in Doctor Who, considering how many times the Doctor's enemies were killed only to be alive a season later.

Re: Doctor Who
- Spoiler:
- The Master both was a Time Lord and had evil cults giving him potions and stuff. So that's highly irrelevant.
Besides, I'm pretty sure no-one can survive the highly explosive destruction of an entire planetoid anyway.
Unless something 'Big Bang 2'-esque happens, which I doubt because that would be lazy from the writers, more likely he'll meet her in the past.

Re: Doctor Who
dunno why i'm using spoiler tags when we're not discussing the episode
Wasn't Davros killed by a Dalek? Still during my research on the Classic Doctor Who series. He came back in Stolen Earth/Journey's End, so that's sort of proof on how pretty much no one dies.which is hilarious because river said everybody dies
I agree that the Doctor could meet her in the past as the most likely outcome, but I'm still keeping on open mind on her being alive too.
Also, this just in:
Moffat deleted his Twitter.

Re: Doctor Who
That was with Harold Saxon though. So not really an old one. In which case, a random cult revived him from his ashes with a weird potion thing.
Davros and the Master don't count for me because they suffer from immortal antagonist syndrome.
Also, anyone watched Dinosaurs on a Spaceship yet? Catching up now.

Re: Doctor Who
Am I the only one who was pissed about the random cult? I mean, it was cool to see the Master as one of Ten's final enemies, but come on, you could've done better than that.
>Immortal Antagonist Syndrome
I... have no arguments for that because it's so true it's stupid.
The episode aired yesterday.
'Twas pretty good.

Re: Doctor Who
Wait isn't that impossible? Don't we know all of Rivesongs regeneration from the past meaning that this would need to be form the future which is also impossible(maybe)?

Re: Doctor Who
If I am remembering correctly, the first regeneration of Riversong was Melody Pond who grew up in the suit. She died on screen and if I remember correctly regenerated into Mels. Mels turned into Riversong in the Hitler episode and Riversong got turned into a computer in the Library.

Re: Doctor Who
You're mostly correct on Melody > Mels > River.
... River was never the computer though, I think.
I'm still confused on what you're trying to say that's impossible though.
If anything, River is proof that Rai's theory could work.

She got saved to the computer. She died that day. So she never became anything but River.

Re: Doctor Who
That's what I meant. The computer archived her. Technically all archived people became the computers interface so I'm not wrong.
