I really want to have something less... unstable than mono green infect IRL. Seeing as the current Standard Grixis Control deck is good, I figured I'd try to adapt it to Modern. Modern has more powerful finishers but I still believe AEtherling is the best of them. You cast it and you win the game 90% of the time. With that said, I'm just missing the shock lands, but I'll be getting them soon. With those, this is the decklist I currently have:

    2 AEtherling
    1 Wurmcoil Engine
    1 Grave Titan
    1 Inferno Titan

    4 Gitaxian Probe
    4 Go for the Throat
    4 Lightning Bolt
    4 Mana Leak
    4 Think Twice
    4 Thoughtflare
    1 Blasphemous Act
    1 Dissipate
    1 Tribute to Hunger

    1 Jace, Architect of Thought
    1 Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker

    4 Steam Vents
    4 Watery Grave
    3 Blood Crypt
    3 Dragonskull Summit
    3 Drowned Catacomb
    3 Sulfur Falls
    2 Island
    2 Mountain
    1 Cascade Bluffs
    1 Swamp

Fastlands are good and cheap if you can get them.

Thoughtflare is far too expensive for what it is. If you want some early drawpower, I'd suggest some Shadow of Doubts and I'm personally a fan of a 1-of Telling Time in decks like this.

Consume the Meek is a fantastic card to just mise games with.

I personally think 6 drops don't have a home at all in modern due to the nature of the format, outsides of Gifts Ritesing them back. Sedraxis Specter, Duskmantle Seer and Creeping Tar Pit are far better creatures and finishers overall.

The Jace is definitely good, but Nicol Bolas is just too expensive for modern.

Dissipate and Gitaxian Probes are just awkward for this type of deck. Either discard or Izzet Charms (preferably both) should replace them, but Inquisition and Thoughtseize are the best discard spells, one's a 5-7 dollar uncommon and one's a 50 dollar rare, so...

Can't quite think of anything else off the top of my head, but that should be a good starting point.

    Thanks.

I've got Izzet Charms and Duresses (it's very hard to find Inquisitions here). Nicol Bolas is expensive I can drop it. Shadow of Doubt probably is hard to find too but I'll try. Consume the Meek should be easy to acquire. Sedraxis as well. I currently own 1 Seer, but is it really that good? Tar Pit should be easy to get, too.

Duress seems kinda weak in the format, but obviously not unusable. It's probably a perfectly fine discard spell and deals with what the deck struggles with the most.

I've played Duskmantle Seer a few times. He's a fine 1-of if you don't want to get more anyway, but I haven't played him enough to say I know he's good. But whenever I've cast him it's either won the game or eaten double Bolt which isn't exactly bad. Just be wary of your life total when you cast him is all. Consume the Meek, Jace and other Seers sometimes like to give your opponent a free Lava Axe/Flame Javelin.
