She didn't 'die', she just stopped existing as Akroma. Karona, the False God? This Akroma is one-half of her.

She died when herself, Phage and some random girl where all sliced simultaneously by the Mirari's Sword...they also at the same time merged into Karona...when Karona was once again slain with the Mirari's Sword Akroma and the other girl remerged Death while Phage now restored into her Jeska Persona has her Planeswalker Spark Ignite saving her from death...
also Yes Angels can die...Liliana enjoy killing them as a hobbie...
