i'm pretty sure he saw gigantic play for ages. He still should be quite popular because he's a great wall against the BR aggro being thrown around.

He's the best early guy in standard. So good in control decks and even UW(r) flash because he cantrips into really good spells while being able to block tons of early game cards like Noble and Zealot.
Won't be surprised if it sees play for the duration of its life in standard.
