    (I'd like to add a note to this card that a friend overlooked when he saw it, the final effect of being unaffected by Black Ice cards includes itself so it does not destroy itself when activated.)

    |When a "Pearl Of Black Ice Token" is Special Summoned, Special Summon this monster from your Graveyard. If you Special Summon this card, remove it from play when it is removed from the field.|

    Alright, tried to make a Deck with them, got this:

    Spoiler:

    They seem very pressed for space. I think you could do a lot of very different builds with them. Anyway, this Deck would generally play out using Statue, Spiral, Cage, Dragon Ice, Blinding Blizzard, and maybe Monster Reborn or Wall to get some field presence/tokens and aim to get out Totem, Glacier or Treasure Chest to spam the field a bit. Against a slower Deck, it would try and Synchro for Black Ice Dragon to gain steady advantage and push for a win, but against a faster Deck it would aim to drop Golem and tribute 2-4 tokens to make him very tough to get around while it builds up some more or if it had a good hand and they over-extended, possibly drop Heiratic to nuke things.

    Between Frozen Fortitude and Spiral, the Deck is generally resistent to 'destruction' effects, and all the token spam and the fact 3 monsters activate off-field when destroyed mean Creature Swap is amazing to steal opponent's boss monsters. The fact their back-row is restriced means Effect Veiler and Gorz are a must for surviving stronger pushes from your opponent.

    Statue of the Black Ice seems to have too much DEF for a token producer, easily summonable guy.

    Make it 2200, perhaps?

    Seems to be an interesting undermeta. Very interesting concept to go with, but it could be consideted a slow Deck in a good amount of match-ups.

    I get where you're coming from, but it can't be Special Summoned and not many level 4s blow up your entire backrow every turn. Some Decks might be able to 'splash' it, but I can't think of any Deck it would break.

    Thanks. I think they might need an extra Spell or Trap, but I'd have to test it before knowing for sure.

    The tokens being fully tribute-able could lead to some fun Decks using Plasma or L&DD or even the god cards. Also having 2 level 8s gives them a Trade-In engine as an option. They also aren't tied to the Field Spell, which gives you some more Deck space to play around with if you want to sacrifice it.

    Fragment seems a little under-powered, IMO, Since it Banishes itself regardless of how you Special Summon it.
    Also I'm tempted to suggest something that's similar to Statue of the Wicked, since it would combo nicely with the Synchro Monsters.
    (Except it would be a Spell card, of course)

    Haven't played recent Frognarchs, does it really not hurt them much to lose their backrow?

    Totally agree with the Fragment thing, I was considering removing it from that Decklist but I wanted to include every card. Maybe it should Summon a Pearl whenever you Special Summon it? Or only RFG itself when Summoned by its own effect? Or both? Also, yeah, these guys could totally run Statue (their field prevents you activating Trap Cards, not activating their effects.) That new D.D. Rift WATER support card is an option too.

    EDIT2: Dark Coffin works too.

    This is true. Thought they might still splash some stuff like Call, Mirror, Torrent.

    Anyway, I haven't heard anyone complaining about them being meta, and Statue's still a bit slow. I definitely see where you're coming from though - I'd want to see Frognarchs run with it and see if they can fit it in easily. You could very possibly be right that it's too strong there. Then again, Treeborn might be a bigger problem card, but I can't go around banning Konami's silly things .-.

    Fair enough.

    Frognarchs do not run any backrow, in fact. They used to tech Treacherous Trap Hole, but they don't even do that anymore. They rely on Monarchs, LaDD and sometimes Obelisk to win. Statue of Black Ice would be a very fair tech on the deck. It wouldn't break it, but... I'd think twice about designing it as-is.

    Alright, thanks for the heads-up. I'm happy for Statue to get teched into various other Decks like people do with Treeborn and other splash-monsters, as long as it doesn't outright break anything.
