    This is pretty much exactly what I speculated out of this card when we first heard the name. Power level in the format? I'm gonna guess RWU Control has a boost now.

    I wouldn't mind siding Counterflux for this. Late creature aggro dumps are slightly more common than counter wars.

    But, still, Silence is such a mediocre 1-mana effect.

    Counterflux, Dissipate and Psychic Strike are all better than this for their own separate reasons.

    If your opponent's playing a bunch of late aggro creatures, they really didn't play their deck very well.

    Well, Mindbreak Trap will always be better against Storm, but...come on guys, it's good. It's essentially a Time Walk.

    It's not that simple.

    How many times, in Standard or even Modern, will a player play more than 1 spell each turn? Plus, they won't lose that second spell, they just won't be able to cast it. Dissipate is better because it fucks up Flashback and Graveyard-based strategies, and Counterflux is better for having a second option and the can't be countered clause.

    I'm not saying this is bad, it's just not good enough compared to those 2. Dissipate is rotating soon, along with Flashback though. This can have its place, maybe in the sideboard, eventually.

    False in most cases.

    Games aren't that fast even with Naya Blitz on the scene. Control decks are very grindy and slow. Even Reanimator takes more than 5 turns to win.

    Meh. It's a "good" card. But it's not good enough.

    I think that it'd be awesome for EDH control decks thought.

    None, though from what I've seen it's all about aggro at my locals, so that's all research material I have. Honestly I can't be bothered defeding another perfectly good and playable card from metagame hyenas so I'll just leave this topic.

    Standard's always bound to be aggro at a locals because aggro's the cheapest thing to build. Personally, at my LGS, aggro's by far the most common deck and yet the best performing decks are Esper, Jund, Naya Midrange and MBC. Fortunately, it hasn't caught on tons that Rites beats virtually all of those, but Rites is just a bad call in a mostly aggro meta anyway.

    When Dissipate leaves the format, it'll be between this and Counterflux. For non-American builds, they'll want this. Othewise, Counterflux all the way.
