 I've been on a Youtube surf all day.

I've been working and doing college stuff all day. :v

I've been at my LGS for most of the day, doing everything that wasn't MtG related actually. Mostly stuff for school, some drawings and to hang out.

Just hanging out at my LGS without planning on doing anything or buying stuff just feels strange to me.

Maybe it's just because I'm the only teenager there with a bunch of 20-30 year olds.

Don't really see how that's weird myself. I thought one good upside of LGS's was to promote a community.


Unrelated, I've been goldfishing a UW control deck with RTR/M14 cards plus Omenspeaker and Elspeth from Theros, and all I can say is Elspeth is actually just the absolute stones as a finisher, and given that the format will be slower, and Essence Scatter will be getting better with no Cavern I am seriously looking forward to rotation, despite the fact that a lot of my favourite cards are rotating.

Oh and I need to make sure I do better than last time at the PTQ this weekend, which almost virtually means top 8'ing... Maybe I have my expectations set a little too lofty. Oh well, get to at least pick up an FTV20 for £100.

So have you posted up that Uw list?

No, because atm it's essentially the RTR block UW control list with Elspeth over AEtherling and then Omenspeaker over Precinct Captains. Other than that it throws in Essence Scatters and Celestial Flares as forms of removal. I also want to test Blind Obedience to see how well it fares, depends on what hasty stuff Theros brings to the table too, though. There's also the fact that Theros is less than 80 cards in which isn't nearly enough to really finish a control deck on or even use it as a model since control decks by definition must constantly adapt to the meta. I have a shell, however, but feel the card draw might be slightly lacking. (Running 4 Azorius Charm, 4 Jace and 4 Rev, with 4 Omenspeaker atm.)

Well, let's hope the rest of Theros brings you more stuff

Is it too much to hope for Preordain? Given it's banned in modern it seems like it'd be really awks to reprint.

Yeah, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much for that.

Well, it is where I hang out with a lot of my friends during the time and I got to know a lot of the collegebound through. It doesn't have many people above 25. Most of them are 18-23, I think. With a few being 16, 17, etc.

What would happen with we got a different draw spell for Theros? Serum Visions would definitely not be reprinted for name's sake and getting a functional reprint with a different name seems crazy. There could be a different Scry spell, maybe an instant for 2.

3UU maybe? Depends on how many blue creatures with UU they plan to release.

God please don't let that be WotC's version of card draw/filtering. The aim of (draw-go) control is to not have permanents in play early.

Edit: Initially read that as scry X draw 1, but anyway, that'd probably cost a fair number, and manage to be worse than both Opportunity and Sphinx's Revelation.
