Focusing on crossriding would mean I'd have to run shitty units like Tortoise and find space for Shout which plain isn't useful here.

It's a huge bonus to be able to do, but the deck's meant to work without being able to as well, so naturally the Azure PB is relevant.

Hmm... So the Crossride is the bonus, but the deck can get by without it.

Way different from my idea which was to mash Yamata Dragon in there with the G3s. This is much more consistent and easier to deal with.

Azure also does give you the benefit if you're attacking first with a Bird. Since being able to +1 and find a ride piece is a great bonus.

Changing to suit any other build would just move away from consistency for a tiny amount more of aggressive lee-way. The main idea is to just bash with 18k+ columns since the format's just crossride infested, and having a double-stand trigger on a stick makes crossride matchups even easier. Most decks (and a lot of bad players) waste their time trying to construct 20k columns which simply do nothing anymore. Most RGs will only be 9k or less too, which is easy enough to snipe or at the very least force a 10k block against.
