So people what's up? anyone going to that Magic Celebration thing today?

I'm alright. Building a new deck, becuase I'm bored.

Plus, thinking of posting my modern deck for criteque. or however you spell it. Since, I'm liking how it runs.. but feels it needs more consitency.

Question to other Magic players, im thinking of trying to build Mono Black Control only I have no idea what cards pepple put in it besides Ravenous Rats and Vampire Nighthawk. Could anyone tell me what most MBC decks run?

I've got a bunch of Mono-Black lists on Cockatrice. If you want, I can PM you my current one tomorrow and I'll write you up a basic break-down of how to use it.

As Rodrigo said though, most of the good cards are rotating out, but it doesn't make the deck impossible to build post-rotation, we should be getting enough good cards, and M13 was very generous to black with Nighthawk, Rats and Mutilate.

You can expect me to be on the MBC train post-rotation too. :3

If it wouldnt be too much trouble I wouldn't mind a list

Ive been wanting to learn how to play something besides aggro for a while now and I thought this might be a good start.

I would love to make a good deck IRL, but knowing the cards I need, if I want to buy them separately, it's way too expensive... And I'm not lucky enough to pull them from boosters, especially not planeswalkers...

Well, I've got a couple of minor tweaks I wanna make to the deck, and I'm heading off to bed now. I'll PM you it tomorrow, whenever I wake up I guess.

It's a lot more fun, imo, there's a lot more thinking and interaction with your opponent, even if that interaction isn't clearly shown on the board it is in their head. Although the general strategy is a lot more fragile, and you have to know how to use and conserve cards.

One example of that is with cards like Go for the Throat. If they've got something annoying on the board, but not too threatening (especially if you know they have better creatures in their deck) then don't just throw away your GftT to save damage. MBC has a perfect example of a card that'll remedy early-game damage in Nighthawk anyway.

Well, I won't go into too much detail now, I'm gonna try to beat my inability to sleep.

I have been saving up money to work on lists irl. I usually trade among my school for the cards a lot of the time. I am the only one who uses artifacts except for those Quest decks. I got part of the shit from them, but it isn't easy to get the cards you want all the time. :/

No one im friends with plays magic and I have no money so building in RL is a little hard for me.

When I first got started someone at my locals gave me a huge stack of commons that were from Inistrad and Dark Ascension though
