Card of the Day 8/22/12 - Destruction Dragon, Dark Rex Vgd_today1-22

Hakairyuu Daakurekusu (Destruction Dragon, Dark Rex)
Grade 3/Dragon Empire, Tachikaze - Dino Dragon/10000 Power
Auto (Bind Zone) (LB4): [Target 3 of your <<Tachikaze>> Rearguards, retire them] During the start of a Close Step of a Battle in which a Grade 3 or higher <<Tachikze>> Vanguard Attacked, if that attack didn't Hit, you can pay the cost. if you do, Ride this card.
Activate (Hand): [Bind this card] Target 1 of your <<Tachikaze>>, during this turn, it gains 3000 Power.
"Still not enough... I think I'll eat you!"

Card Lore: An evil dragon that has been acknowledged as being a dangerous lifeform of the highest rank and class. Though it technically belongs to "Tachikaze", this is treated as a formality, and nothing more, as it is currently imprisoned deep within an undergeround prison for convicted felons. Its lust for destruction consumed any sense of reason it had, it isn't destroying anything intentionally, as its fericious nature is so dangerous since its only goal is destroying things for the sake of destroying them. Is it possible that its body adapted itself for destroying things? The reason some ask this is because its body is covered in countless numbers of blades and its own bodily fluids contain extremely lethal poisons. It is a tyrant of darkness who continues to crave pointless destruction. It waits. It waits for that time it'll be free to trample across the earth once more.

For those of you that have no idea how this could possibly be good, remember that superior riding/calling something mid-battle phase has the card standing instead of resting.

mfw Colonel flops to a null and you use the rest of your field for your final turn swing with this guy.

I got sadder though when I realized the binding was permanent and not until the end of your turn

It's more of a Final Turn gimmick if anything, but it's a pretty good one when you realize that this is pretty much a counter to null guards that would keep you from winning.

I mean the fact that this is a grade 3 that becomes useful in hand is amazing. Grade 3s in hand are usually useless except for using as null guards, this actually gives you +s if you got optimal field.

It's really an awful card because if you consider how Colonel works, these two cards nuke your field for a stab at Final Turn. But again, it could work in your favor, since you get another swing at your opponent with a 10k Vanguard that has Twin Drive.

Not sure how boosting/triggers work when you ride something mid-fight, but anyway...

EDIT: Never mind, it doesn't carry. Looks like it'd have to be Deathrex/Destruction Rex and 6 Stands. qq

Actually, I'd rather they Soul Blast.

More because they have a Margal Clone, and they have a Succubus Clone (the one that gets a SC for each time you call a unit), considering it could generate massive soul (theoretically) to consistently spam those units.

Then again, I could be wrong, and they'll just make retrains of the Spark/Blastsaurus units, this time with better power and CB1 costs. :V

Well, really, 14k power just to drop 2 and get another set isn't awful, but it's a waste of space, and so they really should make a g2 of Skyptera and Dragon Egg to balance it out at least. =/

The funny part is that this bares a resemblance to Destroyersaurus lmao

Anyway, interested on seeing rulings on this card tbh.

Dunno why you'd need rulings, but keep an eye on Bushiroad's blog and then ask it on their card of the day post when they post it.

It's really just the whole "does riding via skill eliminate trigger effects" thing, and the consensus is that they leave when you ride something new over something that was pre-boosted.

Nothing else really worth noting, since that's the only concern anyone would have.

This thing looks reeeeally interesting. Binding itself then riding from there is insanely cool. The cost is pretty big though, being a -1 even with a second Twin Drive, but Tachis can easily make up for that.

So I'm thinking the standard Tachi G3 lineup with this would be
3 Ride chain thing (4 if you don't mind lots of G3s)
    3 Deathrex
    2 This
