[Yu-gi-oh!]Gorz the Emissary of Darkness 300px-GorztheEmissaryofDarkness-DL13-EN-R-UE-Blue

When you take damage from a card your opponent controls while you control no cards: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. When Special Summoned this way: Activate the appropriate effect, based on the type of damage. ● Battle Damage: Special Summon 1 "Emissary of Darkness Token" (Fairy-Type/LIGHT/Level 7/ATK ?/DEF ?). Its ATK and DEF are each equal to the amount of Battle Damage you took. ● Effect Damage: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the amount of damage you took.

Despite running many staple purposes, Gorz also acts as delicious Dark Gaia food! ^_^

Love this card in any deck that keeps a small back row. Also, dropping this for game when your opponent tries to Caius a Sangan is win.

    Topic Derail Go:

My friend runs 1 Battle Fader over this because, as he says "I'm usually in a situation where I need Battle Fader over Gorz. And Sangan can search Battle Fader."

Using a logical argument, please crush his argument, YC- er... f*ck what is it now...? er... CC...?

    CGC, Aggro.

I'll take a 2700 Beatstick with a Beatstick Token over Fader. Every time.

f*** this card and everything it stands for.

Seriously, Konami, ban it. It's a horrible card that rewards a player for being bad and creates a terrible mindset every time you go on the offence.

How does it make sense to reward someone for losing?

How is it rewarding? It's more of a last shred of hope, something to fall back on, a safety net.

Yup, it's not a reward to suddenly have a 2700 beater and a beater that's as strong as whatever hit you.

You do realise that a player dropping Gorz can very often mean game, right?

Considering current meta, Zektors and Zeimanes (I think that's how it's spelt) pretty much stick a middle finger to it's Stats.

Current meta is Rabbit. How do you plan to equip Hornet in MP2 anyway? After that, how do you intend to do so when they get their extra turn to make Dolkka?

It's not even a "monster-screwed" scenario, a player has the option to leave their board open essentially whenever they want, or just sit on a Laggia (or any one monster) and have this in their hand and have a failsafe position. Gorz is a terribly broken card.

Why is Gorz better than Fader? (even though I'm late I want to answer this)

Firstly, Gorz plays better mind games. Drop it game one and the next 2 games they will be terrified. Fader can be run into with no worry except it kinda makes tribute foder. The ability to play mind games can allow a player to survive more turns. Also, actually dropping Gorz is so much more helpful then dropping a Battle Fader. It brings you back into the game in a HUGE way with likely two 2000+ monsters that can help you basically win. Really no question between the two.

Null Guards do the same thing, except null guards don't swarm the field and can't win you the game on their own. It's bad card design.

How did I even miss this thread?

Obviously it is amazing, but people talk about it like it's as powerful as Dark Armed or Crush Card Virus, unfortunately it's not, Tribute material and a hard hitter, Oh and it's a burn he has an answer for that 2, Take your damage (as well as I come out). Yes broken isn't even the word, Obliterated sounds a bit more fitting.

This is a hell of a lot more powerful than Dark Armed.

This card has an entire mindset based solely around it. .-.

No, it's worse. Dark Armed's -3 to your field opens the gateway to Gorz and kills it next turn, then they swing for game by ramming the token and killing with Gorz.
... idk, chris, give a better explanation for this.

    @ The Fader Argument:
I'm assuming his friend thinks Battle Fader is better because Gorz requires an empty field or something stupid like that. Which, in that case, he's missing the point.

Maybe the fact that Gorz just @1 creates a terrible mentality in the game, how would it feel to know that the Gorz play is actually consistent? At least Dark Armed takes some skill to set up, because it actually requires decent grave control, which is actually counter-able by a side deck, whereas Gorz isn't. Gorz would be a staple @3, would be incredibly splashable, and would absolutely ruin the game. Dark Armed at least requires a deck build around it.

Regardless, if either of them are moving on the banlist, it'll be to Forbidden, there's no possibility that either would ever go to 2 or 3, they're both terribly overpowered cards and both really deserve to be banned tbh.

Odds of having multiples is minimal, however. The point is, if you pay attention to your opponent's Graveyard count then you shouldn't have as much trouble with DAD, and you can continue to try to win the game. This much is very important. If you're hesitating due to the high odds your opponent has a Gorz, you can no longer try to win the game. Which is absolutely horrible for the game. *insert the exact same argument I just made to support this further*
