I tried out Ghostfire Blade instead of Steel Overseer in this decklist with my playtesting group; I hated the card. It is just so badly positioned in the meta right now. I would rather run Steel Overseer or something stronger. It protects my threats, but makes the Burn matchup harder since they are now targetting my Vault Skirge instead of my face. When I am just blanking burn spells, I am not gaining any advantage because they can repeat Treasure Cruise after Cruise or burn out faster with Boros Charm, Destructive Revelry. I would just side in Spellskite to do the same thing and get in more damage that Ghostfire Blade+ creature would try.
It is also so bad in the mirror, too. Steel Overseer shouldn't be in the sideboard, and it helpful more times when left unanswered. I can consistently go off for a win in the Mirror or just against any deck.
So note, don't play Ghostfire Blade right now. I most likely won't go back to playing it later on either. I just hated using it. When I never drew it, I knew I was going to do better. I just wish I kept atleast 2 Steel Overseer in board. GHostfire is only good when BGw Souls and UWR Control are decks, and those are tolerable 50-50 matchups anyways.
