WMCQs start next month, so going to be doing some serious standard testing after this coming weekend (modern ptq this weekend, so that's the focus for now). I don't currently have everything for this (missing the second Elspeth, the Caves of Koilos, the Liliana or the Stain the Mind), and might need to find some more Thoughtseizes if they seem necessary. It's also very possible a third Elspeth, an Aetherling or an Elixir is required in the main since there are currently only 2 win conditions and 4 Jaces.

The mana base allows for 18 blue sources 16 white sources and 14 black sources, enough to allow the deck to play some number of Downfalls, thanks to the painlands.

    Planeswalkers:
    4 Jace, Architect of Thought
    2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion

    Enchantments:
    4 Detention Sphere

    Sorceries:
    2 Thoughtseize
    4 Supreme Verdict

    Instants:
    4 Azorius Charm
    3 Devour Flesh
    1 Doom Blade
    1 Deicide
    4 Dissolve
    1 Hero's Downfall
    4 Sphinx's Revelation

    Lands:
    4 Hallowed Fountain
    2 Watery Grave
    2 Godless Shrine
    4 Temple of Deceit
    4 Temple of Enlightenment
    4 Temple of Silence
    2 Caves of Koilos
    4 Island

    Sideboard:
    1 Liliana Vess
    1 Stain the Mind
    1 Notion Thief
    3 Gainsay
    1 Negate
    2 Ultimate Price
    2 Nyx-Fleece Ram
    1 Blind Obedience
    1 Banishing Light
    1 Hero's Downfall
    1 Deicide

I feel like losing Planar Cleansing is a big loss for control decks that aren't straight UW.

1 Deicide mained or sided is potentially better than Elixir. Great against Blue Devotion, Black Devotion and kills opposing Detention Spheres. Seems like a popular choice at the moment.

I think Planar Cleansing is a terrible place to be right now. All it does is play better vs Abrupt Decay which isn't a card I feel one gains anything by doing. In stead you give yourself less early game interaction, and essentially forfeit most aggro matchups (even mono blue sometimes, which is one of this deck's best matchups) because it's expensive. I would only ever choose to play a Planar Cleansing build of control if I knew I'd just play against B/g devotion and Monsters all day; Even if I chose to play UW it would be with D-Spheres.

Deicide's a good point. Guess I managed to forget to include it somehow.

    MB: -1 Downfall, +1 Deicide
    SB: -1 Gainsay, +1 Deicide
