Counter target enchantment, instant or sorcery spell. Its controller puts a 2/2 blue Bird creature token with flying onto the battlefield.
Why is it a rare ;w;
That's a +0 or more in the better cases actually but who caresAshiok wrote:I hope not.
-1s aren't blue's thing. :c
Counterspells can't target themselves.Jordan, Lich Lord wrote:Can you target the Swan's Song it's self? Counter it and put a 2/2 flyer for U?
Actually, that is completely wrong. The spell is a legal target for misdirection, but you can't change the target of the spell to itself.Ashiok wrote:They can (with cards like Misdirection) only when they're already on the stack. So in standard, you could for example Wild Ricochet a Dissipate and make the Dissipate target itself.
Normally, though, a counterspell must be able to target what it's countering before it's even cast, so it can't target itself since it's not already on the stack.
114.4. A spell or ability on the stack is an illegal target for itself.
