    It's actually really good.

...but I'm not sure how good it is in practice on constructed formats. Definitely interesting in Commander.

Flavor sucks though. How does it relate at all to the dead? Ah, well. I do really like him too lol

I agree with the flavour issues; This feels like a development card.

I can't see how this could be bad, though. It's a very expensive Yawgmoth's Bargain on a could-be 5/7 indestructible body.

And Nightveil Specter having 3 black symbols is hugely relevant with this, too, I'd assume, given they curve into eachother much like it does with Thassa.

I can kinda see a way to justify the effects for flavour... it just requires jumping through some hoops. It could've been made much better for flavour.

But it seems very good as just a card.

The last ability does make perfect sense for him though. As well as being god of the dead, he's also mentioned as god of wealth (hence the massive gold masks on the Returned).

Yep. That's kinda his whole deal. I agree that perhaps that first ability is a bit dodgy when it comes to flavour, but his activated ability is probably the most flavourful of the bunch.

Well you can see it like...he being the God that rules among dead he may be likely to keep all his realms population stay dead and no return to the world of the living...hence the antihealing

    or see it like this:
    Mortals life is short
Erebos get more people in his realm the more people die
Erebos then dislike people overextending they stay among the living (Via Inmortality, Rejuvenation, etc)

The Grixis gods are all pretty relevant. Glad about that.

Chain for me goes something like Purphuros -> Thassa -> Erebos ---------------> Nylea -> Heliod.
