Pretty much the best discard spell in Modern.

The 2 life constantly with fetchlands, bob and shocks seem kind of suicidal. Inquisition with this for me is always a 3/3 split. But yet, the best discard in modern.

Well, life totals don't matter much in Modern, seeing as fetch into schock into this is a viable T1 play.

Fetch into shock into this is suicide in some matchups. In most cases, I tend to feel like this is a glorified Duress, with the obvious upside of hitting the odd creature.

Aggro and UWR are all it needs to be bad in to almost lose you the game on the spot. You're 5 life down to decks that can outrace damn near anything. It's not a bad card, not by any means, just in some matches fetch, shock, thoughtseize can set you up for a pretty quick loss, especially since you essentially turned any of their cards into a free lava axe. But hey, the best discard spell SHOULD have at least one downside.
