Y'know, a lot of people overlook how good Batterskull is, and it surprises me. Getting a 4/4 vigilant lifelinker is not half bad to maintain/create a position, not to mention the fact that you can save it at instant speed from most, if not all notable removal in the metagame.

    Just sayin'.

    People underrate Batterskull?

If I remember correctly, it was one of the best cards of last format and is between the best equipment ever printed.

People don't overlook it, they just relegate it to the sideboard because it's expensive, which is exactly where it should be.

Insane with Stoneforge and cool even without it.

Does it see play in any of the other formats now that it's out of Standard?

Cause Caw-Blade Standard was way too good.
Caw-Blade in modern is doing quite well too but doesn't run batterskull except @1 usually, but the swords sometimes takes that place too.

Aside from standard, Batterskull it's always @1 in CawBlade/StoneBlade. There is no reason to run more than 1 when you can run 4 Stoneforges.

Stoneforge is banned in modern, so there is no reason at all to run it usually in Modern anyways, batterskull that is, unless it is at 1.

That and Batterskull only shines against a portion of the modern metagame. Without a tutor and manner to cheat it into play, it's almost always better sided, but in the games it comes in (mostly Jund matches) it's a complete and utter house.
