    In other card games, it isn't too great of a problem. But there hasn't been a completely generic searcher in Yugioh for a lot of strong reasons.

    I personally think they are necessary to the game, as long as they're done right. Most of them were, but RotA, for example, isn't the best of designs.

    You know, if more archetypes had their own RotAs, they would actually be playable, and not suffer from slowness :/

    It's not necessarily RotA that is badly designed, but rather the cards that were later released that made it badly designed.

    It's a pretty general topic to discuss tbh. I would rather something more specific but whatever.

    The cards are basically the easiest way for Konami to add consistency.
