[RtR] Izzet Charm

I think the card deserves its own topic.


Even though it's one of the first few cards to be revealed, I can already tell it's gonna be one of the best cards in the set. By far. Will be played in Modern. Will be played in Standard. Earlier formats? Maybe. But it's good. Note that UR Delver may be as good as UW Delver as soon as this comes out properly.

It is ridiculously good. Versatile. Impactant.

I love it so damn much.

I've been practically drooling over the Izzet cards since I saw the new ones. This charm is no exception, because it totally sticks to the themes of Izzet.

On the note about new stuff, Overload is a cheesy mechanic, but if Delve is back, hell to the yes for me rolling Izzet. <3

EDIT: Adding Electromancer to those reasons. Negates and Essence Scatters for just Blue right now? Yes please. <3

If it gets nice stuff, then yes. If Flashback is woefully superior for whatever reason, no.

With Golgari's currently revealed stuff, and Selesnya's little indication of token ramp, the floor's a bit open atm for in-block top-deck.

Delver will probably be better with Dimir in Gatecrash.

With Golgari's currently revealed stuff, and Selesnya's little indication of token ramp, the floor's a bit open atm for in-block top-deck.

Delver will probably be better with Dimir in Gatecrash.

But there is still so much to see that we can't really look much at the block constructed just yet.

With Izzet Charm and other versatile stuff, it looks to be leading more for a blue-red deck.
And Dimir was usually a color combo for milling. Which, if it has another counterspell like Perplex, I don't see it being that good just yet.

I really want to get all the way through to Gatecrash before I make most of my judgements, but I know I'll have to make a choice of what to go with when RtR comes out, at least for the time being.

I pretty much already decided Izzet colors when I played M13 constructed, because it offers some interesting deck types, so I'm pretty sure I'm sticking with those going into RtR.

Golgari and Selesnya need to be more tempting, even though Golgari is really, really getting there. The Guildmage's 2BG skill is lovefest. <3

Yes it is posible we will still have a couple Cheap Spell to get some value out of it...

It is not like we need THAT much to play Talrands as a Tech...

Well, I'll always make it act like a Negate if you know what I mean.

I cant wait for RTR, this will be my first block rotation so this is my first chance to try and build something new before anyone else thinks of it

A pretty good card. And by good I mean I expect to see it in every RU deck in standard for a while.
