    [Kagero] BLAZE Empty [Kagero] BLAZE

Post by Ruby Sat Aug 04, 2012 3:16 pm

    Grade 0: 17

    1 Lizard Soldier, Conroe
    3 Demonic Dragon Mage, Rakshasa
    2 Dragon Dancer, Monica
    3 Embodiment of Spear, Tahr
    4 Gatling Claw Dragon
    4 Dragon Monk Genjo

    Grade 1: 14

    4 Demonic Dragon Mage, Kimnara
    4 Embodiment of Armor, Bahr
    4 Wyvern Guard, Barri
    2 Lizard Soldier, Raopia

    Grade 2: 11

    4 Chain-Attack Sutherland
    4 Flame-Edge Dragon
    3 Berserk Dragon

    Grade 3: 8

    4 Blazing Flare Dragon
    4 Dual Axe Archdragon

Considering Vortex Dragon, but there's no point with Kimnara, Flame-Edge, and Gatling Claw. ... Vortex doesn't require a Counterblast to Soul Charge, however, so I'm iffy on it.

Archdragon is always good in every situation.
Sutherland is so much better than I gave it credit for.
Raopia is so much better in Blazing Flare than I gave it credit for.
Rakshasa has the potential to be insane, and in other cases, you can get Tahr's 5k boost for an emergency.
I could run Stand Triggers, I really could.

I write might a guide for this, holy shit this deck is fun. <3

Essentially, what Retire Kagero will be in about a day or so for ETCG, when BT03 hits. Mind, you won't have Raopia until December, but technically you could tech Aermo at 2 for a couple months and it wouldn't change too much drastically.

To be honest, I'd rather run Gojo. The point of Raopia is to make it so Blazing Flare is actually something more than a 19/22 swinger.

    Joka's awks imo.

I'm not too much of a fan of DO in Retire Kagero. Yeah, it's an 11k, but I'll pretty much never use the Counterblast, will always want Blazing Flare as the Vanguard, and Archdragon has more use by swinging for a solid 21k once everything falls in place.

I thought the entire point of BFD was to ride it during the turn you was going to win, because it's the kind of thing that would actually guarantee you the game. DO's a better Vanguard early/mid game, you don't want to ever use it's CB because honestly it's CB is terrible for the amount that it's at considering how easily blocked it is. You should really be playing something like 3 BFD / 3 Dual / 2 DO with DO and Dual being switchable. 11k is an important number for Kags and one of the reasons why they're good in the ECG. You really should try to optimize this by playing the 11k that contributes to the Soul.

Also, Joka's actually infinitely better than Sutherland and Raopia.

If that was the entire point, then that's news to me. Especially considering that with Raopia + Blazing Flare, you're swinging for 23k per turn basically. I see your logic with it being the better Vanguard for most of the game though, but I'm thinking that's more of a reason for a ETCG deck. ... And I thought Eternal Flame was actually good for Rearguard DOs. Derp.

Will test DO out to see if I like it here.

Test Joka as well btw. The amount of retiring you do in the deck makes it Doreen, so it makes it a 12k booster to Dual-Axe... Which is 25k. IMPORTANT!

Wouldn't it be nicer to run Makoraga instead?

*didn't even know that that existed.*

    Test that instead.

Tested Makoraga. I did get Blazing Flare to 39k once, but... it didn't really test well in the end every other game. Will likely try it again in the long run.

I have yet to test Overlord only because I can't draw it. My luck is just terrible with that.
