We've said before why a chatbox would be a terrible idea. I stick by those same reasons that it'd still be a terrible idea.

But a chatbox would be fun, spammy, and worth it IMO. Not for meaningful things though really.

A chatbox would be terribad. We need a reliable PM system. You actually have to look to see if you got on.
And replying isn't very user-friendly.

Let's get one when we switch boards.

Chatboxes kill forums. We want this to be a success.

We had one on J-Max's forum. It worked well because we only had about 5 members. ANymore would be too spammy and ruin the fun of it. Sometimes people actually like to have a topic and some people don't. If we switch and get a lot new members, become a more experienced forum, it wouldn't be advised by any means.

Now, our PM system sucks major a**, and it probably will until we get IPB. I haven't seen any way to fix that. Same with the stupid a** black text. I think that's a problem with this terrible theme, though. This requires a lot of money from me, so you guys better learn to deal with it until IPB comes. Since, you know, I'm paying out of pocket.

Sadly, I have to agree.
Although I wouldn't mind the idea of a section based around just, talking to other members which didn't increase your post count.

Might want to try .tk forums for a while, if I can find the server and stuff. They looked professional and were free. Which, they also were, at most times, properly down, but not easy to maintain.

Or as Smear-kun said, a forum section (general?) where no post count, and just random talking. But Status Bar is better, because you can separate convos easily, without having to use @(person) repeatedly. But just my insignificant opinion.

yeah, but it's just nicer to keep it in the same place, instead of checking multiple places (YCM, here, MSN, etc)

What did Anger Level do with YCMember? If I can get a hold of him properly, I could get his help on creating a better forum. That had a status bar, great pm system and was actually a very well put together forum.
Of course ownership would be in the hands of Lunar and staff.
I need to learn that stuff.

I'm going to be using IPB. You see, another factor about making this new site is that I want to promote my business. I'm a (recently) licensed web designer. I need this sort of crap. If this sort of thing goes in my portfolio, then I'll be off to a good start with my business.

And guess what? Everyone wins. ^_^
