    Water Palace Empty Water Palace

Post by Ruby Wed May 16, 2012 4:26 pm

    Monsters: 22

    3 Genex Controller
    3 Genex Undine
    3 Atlantean Armed Solider
    3 Atlantean Marksman
    3 Deep Sea Diva
    2 Atlantean Dragon Poseidra
    2 Atlantean Assaultman
    2 Treeborn Frog
    1 Effect Veiler

    Spells: 18

    3 Atlantean Roar
    3 Surface
    2 Moray of Greed
    2 Salvage
    2 Pot of Duality
    2 Mystical Space Typhoon
    1 Dark Hole
    1 Heavy Storm
    1 Monster Reborn
    1 Pot of Avarice

    Extra: 15

    1 Black Ray Lancer
    1 Daigusto Phoenix
    1 Gachi Gachi Gantetsu
    1 Number 17: Leviathan Dragon
    1 Temtempo the Percussion Djinn
    1 Wind-Up Zenmaines
    1 Ally of Justice Catastor
    1 Black Rose Dragon
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
1 Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
    1 Hydro Genex
    1 Scrap Dragon
    1 Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon
    1 Stardust Dragon
    1 T.G. Hyper Librarian

Was screwing around and looking for decks that even I could at least attempt to build consistently. Atlanteans looked interesting with the ideas I got, so I went "wynaut?". When I played it, everything about it was tons of fun.

Roar is only theory atm, I've tested the rest of the deck with an additional Veiler and Atlantean Assault Trooper. RDA/RND is only in there for giggles, and I'll probably toss them out for Crimson Blader and idk, Orient Dragon.

Uhh... that's it. All I ask is that you guys don't tear me apart and help.

Monster lineup looks a lot like mine except I run the Caius over a Poseidra. Also Spined Gillman < Atlantean Pointman. 3 Moray of Greed seems too much. Moar Veiler is always nice though. Also one less Controller seems fine because you wont really want to draw into them. Try perhaps a Birdman because Birdman + Diva is an OTK (Diva into Soldier, bounce Diva for Birdman, Diva into Marksman, overlay Diva and Soldier for Daigusto Phoenix, attack for 3000 + 1400 + 1400 then use Marksman to bring out Pointman for an extra 2200 making 8000 damage).

For the extra deck you could use more xyz monsters like Leviathan Dragon (who is a great way to trigger Marksmans effect), Daigusto Phoenix (allows you to use Soldier and Diva to put a LOT of damage on the board) and Gachi Gachi (allows for more defensive plays while still putting a lot of damage out).

Still looks a lot like what I run.

How is Caius over Poseidra? I mean, I'm only running it because of it's Trunade effect being easy to pull off. ... Err, Assault Trooper, you mean? Moray hasn't been cloggy so far, but idk, I'll keep testing. Wanna try with another Veiler. And I have drawn into those Controllers, and doing so hurts a lot, so I kinda wanna keep it at 3 here.

I really would like to avoid putting some sort of OTK-engine in here, but I see your point. I have like, no clue what to neg for Birdman though. From my perceptive, deck is kinda tight on space. That's why I posted it. And I prefer Gillman for the sole fact that it can give many of the other monsters nice boosts here, but I can put Assault Trooper in it's place and see how I like it more.

... I forgot that removing as an Overlay Unit still triggers it. Okay, I can toss out the Red Syncs for Leviathan and Daigusto. Not... sure about Gachi, tbh. I'll find something to ditch for him.

    I'll go:
    - Red Dragon Archfiend
    - Red Nova
    + Leviathan
    + Daigusto
    - Gillman
    + Assault Trooper
    ?

    EDIT:
    -1 Black Ray Lancer
    +1 Gachi
    that too

Assault Trooper is searchable by Marksman which is what gives it the edge over other options. Being able to do 3600 damage from nowhere and going into an xyz is great.

I have several problems with the Extra Deck choices.

I think I'll primarily ask about Dewloren... while you have nothing to actually bounce for it's power-up. =V

EDIT: And /maybe/ some Main Deck complaints.

Dewloren was just thrown in because I was thinking about what I could access at the time. . _.
I haven't used him, so I can ditch him for Orient.

Er. Go for Zenmaines. Having a defensive out's a good thing, y'know. =V

Like how Welche mentioned the necessity of Gachi.

3 Salvage and 3 Surafcing seems like serious overkill .~.

Also, you should find room for a Temptempo, the Percussion Djinn. It's an amazing out to Zenmaines/Utopia/Xyz in General. Neg the Dewloren for one if it instead of a second Zenmaines.

Considering I /didn't/ see the Zenmaines, do this.

And I was gonna also comment about the overkill of /3/ Moray of Greed. I'd rather Duality, since at least grabbing an Undine off it creates better consistency. Moray of Greed's chances of being dead about 58.5%, when I consider Salvage and Opening Move. =V

Do note, I just pulled that number from my rear.

Not at all, they've been working out fine for me maxed.

    -1 Dewloren
    +1 Temtempo
    Done.

    @Johnny:
Constant Morays help recycle for Divas and crap, but idk.
Could neg 1 and something else like a Salvage or Surface for the second Duality.

Okay, I think it'll be easier to just ask /how/ this has been testing. Meaning write down the plays that /actually/ happen in a match without siding. It'd be easier to determine what to neg effectively through that. =V

Can't test the version up there, since it has Roar, but with the edits I made to the current one, I even fit in the 2 Duality.

Though, I'm a little lost on what you mean. Do you want like, game reports? Or for me to write down plays I would normally do?

    Game reports, etc.

So, all-in-all, play against a friend who'll let you proxy Roar. =V

I really like Armory Arm here personally. If you go first and open with Undine you can mill the Frog and go Armory next turn.

    @Johnny:
    Will do.
Went ahead and negged a Moray and Salvage to test the Dualities with the Proxy Build, btw.

    @Welche:
    Need room for Armory.
