    Cardgame Coalition's Weekly Deck Building Challenge!


         Due to the wide success of the Custom Card Challenge, I have devised another weekly Challenge for us all to participate in. As the name implies, this will be a Deckbuilding challenge where each week we construct decks based on the Format and Challenge of last weeks winner's choice. We will post these Decklists here and vote on a winner at the end of the week.



        To start off the first week, Create a Modern Legal deck based on Quests from Zendikar.

    For some reason I thought that it asked to actually use one of the "Quest" cards you know the ones with "Quest" in the name...now this changes everything

    No sideboard because I'm lazy. It's Travis Woo's Dirt Cheap Dirty Blue with added Leviathans. SYNERGY! The base Travis Woo deck plays bunches of filter creatures to get to lords in order to win. This is super convenient since Quest for Ula's Temple needs total topdeck stacking as well. As if that weren't enough, it's double super convenient that the main lord also has an otherwise useless mana generation ability. UNLESS YOU'RE PLAYING INKWELLS, OBVIOUSLY.

    Deck stack to draw into your Grand Architects. Deck stack to get Ula's Temple triggers. Deck stack to draw into an Inkwell with your Grand Architects on the field.

    First off, you guys are boring. Really, Quest for the holy Relic? Add some spice to it first, Impostor Faerie.

    Ula's is straight forward, but I like the twist on it!

    Do we have to have a sideboard?

    Not a fan of the focus on Quests, personally. They restrict deck design but not in a way where creativity really thrives.

    Also, the only Quest that one can really even argue is competitive is Pyromancer Ascension.

    I'll be the boring one who posts a Storm deck because I don't want to brew with any of the other quests, and I like the idea of a weekly deckbuilding contest anyway.

    So... whatever happened to this being a thing? Are people willing to actually do this going off of what Dae's challenge was?

    I'm assuming this was just forgotten as opposed to unwanted because I really like deckbuilding challenges.

    Best format (modern) with the best cards for the job (Gifts Ungiven and Iona).

    Also I don't count the Colonnades as win conditions since f*** off can 4 Colonnades come close to 20 damage in most matchups.
