Card of the Day 1/6/14 - Black Wing Sword Breaker BT15-011-RR_%28Sample%29

[AUTO]:[Soul Blast (1)] When this unit is placed on (RC) from your deck, if you have a «Shadow Paladin» vanguard, you may pay the cost. If you do, draw a card.

Black-Winged Sword Breaker

    "I shall break your spirit."

A black-winged angel that belongs to the knights of shadows called the “Shadow Paladin”, who deal with the dark side of United Sanctuary. How much of her past is true is not really known, as her true name is unknown, and there’s countless rumors about what she did in the past, some saying she belonged to another part of the Sanctuary. She came to be called “Black-Winged Sword Breaker” due to her favorite weapon, “Sword Breaker”, a weapon designed to break weapons such as swords. She never talks about her past, as she’s extremely tight-lipped, to the point she only talks to her allies during battle. She knocks out the enemy, captures them, and destroys their equipment. That’s her job, but it’s a rather odd one in the Shadow Paladins, as they rarely bother with non-homicidal means, since their job is to do anything to ensure the Sanctuary’s peace. She says she ends fight by breaking the opponent’s will to fight. Is that actually what she’s after? Or is it just a means for her to be merciful? Or is it both? The truth is unknown to even those she fights.

THIS WAS A NEAT THING TO COME HOME TO

Mordred pulls this out of the deck very nicely, essentially CB1 SB1 for a draw, 11k booster and 21k vanguard lane, it's contrary to the Dictator build because of how it trades the extra soul for the card but you can afford to do it once while still getting two TDD soulblasts if you ride two Mordreds and use CDG, and to use it twice you just need that third Mordred to stagger the soulblasting. In the long-term it bars you from the third SB but without the additional draw power you weren't likely to get there in the first place.

Shadow Blaze or Ildona with Mordred get good mileage out of it, SBD moreso since it's not competing with the break ride for counterblast, but suddenly my main deck feels a lot more viable than before. Ghast gets...Macha tutoring. And would only be comfortable with soulblasting Fullbau/CDG anyway.
