超越龍 ドラゴニック・ヌーベルバーグ Transcendental Dragon, Dragonic Nouvelle Vague

後の世に「超越生存体」として語り継がれたドラゴンの始祖の内の一体。 世界を形作った創神達が、この星の生態系の頂点に君臨すべき存在として生み出した者が原初の竜、即ち「ヌーベルバーグ」達だったが、想像をはるかに超える速度で強大な力を得た彼らは、生命を総べるどころか破壊しかねない存在になってしまったという。 その大きすぎる力を分散させる為、神々は彼らから幾許かの力を切り離し、さらに数体の竜神を創り出した。 これが守護竜誕生の瞬間だと伝えられている。 その後、超越竜は何世紀にも渡って星を総べたとあるが、ある時代を境に彼に関する文献は急速に減少。 統制を敷かれたかのように、その名は書物から消えていった。 生命体でありながら、生命としての次元を超越した存在「ヌーベルバーグ」。 この時代、この世界に彼が存在しているのか、今や神でさえもわからない。

One of the ancestors of all dragons, referred to by his descendants as a “Transcendental Being”. ドラゴンナイト アシュガル Dragon Knight, Ashgal

"I, therefore, am the most recent of the ancients."

“リンクジョーカー”侵略に対する軍備拡大の際に“かげろう”に所属した若き竜騎士。 今ではほとんど残っていない、「超越龍 ドラゴニック・ヌーベルバーグ」の伝説が色濃く残る地に生まれ、その話を寝物語に育った。 その為、今でも伝説や伝承の類を好み、物語の主人公のような強い戦士となるべく己を磨いている。 年配者の多い集落で毎日のように小言を聞かされていたせいか、老人に対して苦手意識が働いており、意図的に避けるよう立ち回っているらしい。 が、その露骨な行動が逆に老将達の関心の対象になったようで、毎日誰かしらに見つかっては苦労話を聞かされたり、訓練に付き合わされるようになってしまったという。 そのほとんどが嫌がらせでは無く好意から来る行動である事を知っている以上、どうしても無下にはできない。 今日も彼は律儀に付きあうのだろう。 最近の、古き者達に。

A young dragon knight who belonged to “Kagero” when it suddenly swelled in ranks due to the invasion of “Link Joker”. 「超越龍 ドラゴニック・ヌーベルバーグ」の夢から生まれたと伝えられる不死の竜。 時を同じくして生み出された「ヌーベルクリティック・ドラゴン」同様、創造主に付き従う忠実なる従僕。 外部からエネルギーを摂取する必要が一切無いという、およそ生物の範疇を超えた存在であり、「眠りについた主を守る為に千の日が昇り沈むまで戦い続けた」という逸話も残されている。 書物にのみその名と姿を残す夢幻のような存在だったが、近年記述された姿と同じ特徴を持つ二対の影を見たという報告が帝国領内で続発しているという。 伝説に語られる「超越生存体」とその従僕。 今、神以上に存在を怪しまれていた者達が地上へ、歴史の表舞台へ姿を現わそうとしている。 クレイに訪れる新たな時代の風は、戦乱を予見させる嵐か、平和を告げる清風か。 その答えを知る日はそう遠くは無いのかもしれない。

It was created at the same time as “Nouvelle Critique Dragon”, as faithful servants to accompany their creator. It doesn’t need to consume outside sources of energy, so it exists outside the realm of biology and science, and there’s anecdotes of it “continually fighting for over a thousand days, to protect its sleeping master until they awaken”. Although their existences are considered to be a legend from fairy tales, in recent years, there have been an increase in sightings of a pair of shadows matching their description appearing around the Empire. The servants of the “Transcendent One”. It now appears that the beings, greater than the gods, have appeared on the planet and will finally appear in the spotlight of history. The wind of a new era has come to Cray. But is it the wind of even greater war? Or the wind of the age of peace? Maybe one day soon, the world will know.

「超越龍 ドラゴニック・ヌーベルバーグ」の夢から生まれたと伝えられる不死の竜。 時を同じくして生み出された「ヌーベルロマン・ドラゴン」同様、創造主に付き従う忠実なる従僕。 あらゆる言語を解し、如何な種族とも意思疎通が可能であったと記述されている。 クレイの生態系を総べるという超越龍の思想が具象化したような存在で、主の代わりに星を巡り、獣や竜、知的生命体、果ては単細胞生物まで、様々な者達の進化と退化を観測し続けていた。 また、主を守護する役目を持つ同胞とは違い、行き過ぎた人や獣達の争いに手を下すなど、自らの意志で星の歴史に介入する事もあったという。 彼らは超越龍の深層意識の表れ――云わば五体の一部とも取れる存在。 しかし、前述のような行動を取っていた事から、それと同時に一個の生命体として確立していたのではという仮説も立てられている。

It was created at the same time as “Nouvelle Roman Dragon”, as faithful servants to accompany their creator. It understands every language and is capable of communicating with everyone on the planet. It exists solely to fulfill the Transcendental Dragon’s desire to look after the ecosystem of Cray. It takes the place of its master in traveling the planet, and is said to watched the evolution and degeneration of various societies, single-celled organisms, of intelligent life, of dragons and beasts… Unlike Roman, who exists to protect their master, it has fought both man and beast that gone too far, and it is willing to intervene in the history of Cray if he wants to. They are the embodiment of the vast and deep consciousness and awareness of the transcendental dragon… … one could stay they’re practically the dragon’s own limbs. Though, based on the above actions… … there is. this growing theory that the three are the same creature.
