Because I can see this being reprinted if Scry remains a thing in the rest of Theros block.
Also one thing I want to discuss, something that's been making me think recently: This or Ponder?
What is confusing about a card being banned in a format and not being banned in other format? Also, a good number of Standard players don't even give a f*** about Modern and those who do wouldn't get confused.Ashiok wrote:It isn't that it would be too good in standard. Wizards doesn't really every person playing Standard to join and play Modern. They just want to allow people to have the chance to play Modern, but that has nothing to do with reprinting Preordain. Printing a card for Standard that is banned in Modern isn't going to be anything new, they just aren't going to do it in Theros because it is the first Set that keeps Modern in mind through design and development. Reprinting Preordain isn't going to make people not play Modern even if they play Standard, it wouldn't really affect much anyways except for the Standard environment anyways.Jordan, Lich Lord wrote:They're supporting Modern heavily right now, they've even made it an FNM format. They want to get as many standard players as possible to join up. Printing a card that's banned in modern in standard is detrimental to that goal.
You cant overestimate the masses. They will get confused for some reason or another.
