Yeah, post-Conflux, as a child, she gets caught up in some Nacatl plan to stop a plan by Nefarox. Nefarox wants to make himself super-powerful by absorbing some dragon skeleton from Jund, Kaalia was the equivalent of a walking Naturalize, and she destroys the skeleton. Nefarox escapes though, everyone's dead, and she's like, 'lol gonna take my revenge on Nefarox with big fatties now', and goes crazy.
No clue why she can now summon demons at her will, but, you know, having black as an EDH commander is always cool.
