It's actually a clone of Niv-Mizzet. The real Niv-Mizzet is much larger.

Hypersonic Dragon's flavour text wasn't a dead giveaway Niv-Mizzet was working on technology with which to clone himeself?

Re: [DGM] Legion's Initiative
Problem there, is that it's horrendous wrath backup.
What do you do? Waste your turn 2 playing this, then having to hold up RW every turn? Or wait until turn 4 to play this instead of something much more aggressive? I thought this was good when I first saw it, now I'm not so sure.

This has been an on-going thing since the original Ravnica block. Niv-Mizzet was the only sapient dragon left on the plane, because he eradicated all the others. He left the non-intelligent dragons though. He's an egomaniac, so he clones himself for giggles every so often. One of his clones can be seen in the art of Dream Leash from the original Ravnica: City of Guilds set.

I've been playing around with midrange options, and it's not an awful card to sideboard if wipes are an issue. Thing is, with Thrag and the Selesnya bear, it's not that big a deal if you get hit by a wipe, so it's also not that efficient, either. Even worse when you have tokens, since those get taken off the board forever.
Still an interesting card that, like I said, would be sideboard tech I'd consider using depending on matchups.

Re: [DGM] Legion's Initiative
My variant of Naya Midrange isn't prominent on tokens, and Rootborn doesn't necessarily escape Mutilate this format either.

Re: [DGM] Legion's Initiative
Mutilate isn't currently good, so that's irrelevant in most cases.
