I still think something is up. They spent all that time with the character just to kill him?

They'll probably do a lot of backstory on and with him.
I'm gonna stop watching Toonami, but I'm not going to bed just yet, I need to finish somethings.

That one in particular must be http://nihonomaru.comJordan, Lich Lord wrote:So, Gar what are you doing?
Do you happen to know what website this is?
- Spoiler:
I just know that because charts usually have their website showing somewhere on there, that's the first time I've seen that one.

Google has taught me exactly why the number to call Death in Soul Eater is specifically "42-42-564".
Apparently those numbers are phonetically similar in Japanese to the words for die and kill, respectively.

Vita, have you noticed that on the latest episode of Haganai, when Sena is doing the "Kyun" thing, it is an absolute and complete rip off from K-On? LOL

I don't think K-On did it first honestly

I finished Fairy Tail #1 and Bakuman #1
I love them both!
At $10 a book though it's going to take me a while to read them all. Guess I'll get 1 a week

Re: Anime and sometimes manga club
I noticed she did that and that it was in K-On! but this kind of anime is usually something that parodies other anime (not all the time but it's more than noticeable) and while it was most likely a parody of K-On! (that's probably all you meant, so in that case, yes. I noticed it), I wouldn't say was a "rip off" of K-On!, since I really don't know where that was first used, as Luxanna said.Shaga Ayame wrote:Vita, have you noticed that on the latest episode of Haganai, when Sena is doing the "Kyun" thing, it is an absolute and complete rip off from K-On? The Toonami tumblr said they would be talking about something new Thursday.
Wonder if it's another new show.

Yes, Haganai-like animes are all about parodies, there are so many I can't even count, but it was funny since I saw it on Haganai, then 3 days later I saw it on K-On xD

Anyone heard of Kotoura-san?
Saw it on TV Tropes and it sounds...kind of depressing.

I heard that was what made it good. It was a 4koma but I didn't try it because I'm watching enough 4koma adaptions this season (though all are shorts except for the one based off a "4koma light novel", GJ-bu, which I'm actually finding pretty good) and I wasn't so fond of the art.Jordan, Lich Lord wrote:Anyone heard of Kotoura-san?

Re: Anime and sometimes manga club
Look what I found on Tumblr. Wow, total hipster fail. Soul Eater is pretty popular, thus already making it mainstream. Liking something for a long time does not give you the right to say anything along those lines. Putting something on Toonami does not make it mainstream, it's just the Toonami crew showing us something they like and wanting to share it with us.
Did I just rant?

Since when was Toonami mainstream anyway? If I went up to someone on the street to ask them about it they'd look at me like I was a lunatic

I think this person thinks this Toonami is as popular as the old Toonami.

Even the old Toonami wasn't popular enough to be "Mainstream".
I for one, would love for it to be mainstream. More money for them means more Shows for us

Re: Anime and sometimes manga club
The old Toonami basically popularized several shows that were barely doing OK in Japan, like DBZ. (Yeah, DBZ wasn't that popular in Japan before Toonami).
We still have a long way to go for getting more money, my friend.

Re: Anime and sometimes manga club
Toonami did help several shows, but DBZ was always popular in Japan.
It would be more acurate to say to say it helped shows like, Trigun, or Outlaw Star.
Outlaw Star especialy. I think Trigun always had a small fanbase in japan since the manga was out for a while, but Star was equal to a widget series to them

Re: Anime and sometimes manga club
Toonami has made several huge contributions to the anime community, lets leave it at that.
EDIT: Really? DBZ was already popular in Japan? I read somewhere that DBZ became a huge hit when it was Toonami. It might've been in America or another anime entirely.
