[MtG] Card of the Day 108: Black Sun's Zenith

It was great when it was on T2, but I assume it isn't so powerful in Modern. Though it's a really good way to get rid of pesky Finks.

Finks is barely even relevant anymore anyway, and either way it'd take 4 mana to kill it, so you may as well be using Damnation to kill anything at all.

Infest is strictly superior in modern, imo.

I actually quite like Mutilate as a replacement for this in mono-black. For 4 mana if you have enough Swamps you can clear the board. Though Infest does seem like the smarter choice if you have good creatures. Zenith has its merits, like being Infest for any amount, and getting rid of Persist immediately, but other cards are better. That said, I do run all 3 in my EDH.

Needed some black filler. Couldn't think of anything else, really.

Black... filler... It's not Red or white or green, it's the second best colour in the game with a crapload of amazing cards... How do you reach Infest as the filler option?

By not knowing the cardpool beyond a very small scope.
