Murder's a fine side-board card against anything that starts casting threats at 4+ mana.

Ultimate Price doesn't kill some major threat, but hits around the same range as Victim of Night, essentially. There isn't a ton of difference between the two bar casting cost, but both of those are fine removal spells in standard right now.

From my Vamps, we also have Stromkirk Captain. Not sure how often it's used but it works wonders in my deck, give me a First Strike Vampire Nighthawk any day.

OT: Ultimate Price seems nice but from what I can remember, it did fairly poorly in Limited. Murder seems costly, but to the point.Victim of Night seems like RtR has set it back, with the new Zombies.

When it's animated it becomes Red and Black.

So, a deck that doesn't exist will be using a card that sees less play than Crippling Blight?

A lot of players are still using Tragic Slip really. In BG Zombies, I know that Crippling Blight and Tragic Slip have been seeing tournament play.

To be honest, mono-Black isn't seeing play because there's no incentive to. The reason why is basically because there's no good removal.

Not just that, look at the reasons people are going for Jund, and B/G or B/R zombies. The creatures in mono-Black are absolutely abysmal.

Top 10 creatures in format? I'll guess there's not a single mono-Black one (outside of maybe Gravecrawler).

Thragtusk, Resto, Geist, Olivia, Angel of Serenity, Gravecrawler, Huntmaster of the Fells, Thundermaw Hellkite... Snappy's no way near as good as he was but he's probably good enough for the list... The current meta's not exactly creature-centric. It's almost like a perfect combination of good creatures, good spells, good lands. I could only name 9 creatures I'd consider remotely worthy of a top 10 creatures in the format... There just aren't many. Not to mention Planeswalkers are doing a lot of work right now too, and tokens too.

But, it should be noted that they both hit virtually all the same creatures, with the exception of Gravecrawler, which Ultimate Price does kill... but why are you killing Gravecrawler without Pillar of Flame?
