[CGC]Official User Awards Thread (Postponed)

Don't you think this is just a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit early? The forum's not even a year old yet.

Also, some of these awards, such as "Most Arrogant Member"... aren't awards at all. That's just plain mean.

Some people take it as a compliment, I for one, will.

And no, I don't think it's early at all, 141 members is more than enough to form a proper contest/award ceremony thread.


FYI a Year is overrated why wait around a year?

If it makes you feel better, I will be more than happy to fix up certain awards, and add some more, useful awards.

If you take arrogance as a compliment, you have issues. Serious issues.

The forum's not even 6 months old, is it? A year is a standard measure of time, and HURRDURRAWARDSRANDOMLY is stupid. The awards should be an event, a celebration of a goal. Not just hurrdurr. It defeats the entire point.

A year is also a long time, why wait to celebrate someone's brilliance?

And that is what this forum is about is it not or any Forum for that matter, randomness is something we should all embrace.

And Arrogance is not so much something as bad as it sounds, it's more a case of being proud of yourself, I'd rather be Arrogant than fearing of my own skills or writing capabilities.

Arrogant ---> Self-Confident.

And we exist for 4 months and a half. It is too early, sadly...

4 months in doesn't seem like enough especially since the forum's only recently began being active.

Leave it another few months, make the awards all appear positive to the majority of people and then it's fine.

Maybe 1 or 2 joke awards, but no more, and if they are used then the person who receives them shouldn't be someone who would take offence from them. Some of them are just plain insults or not awards. Such as the "greatest spammer". If anything, the "greatest spammer" should no longer be a member.

2 award systems a year would be fine, which leads me back to my first point that 4 months isn't enough, it would make sense for them to be 6 months apart, including from when the forum began.

Also, and award system without "smartest member"? You crazy.

Why would you just do it willy nilly? There is literally no reason to do it at this time. You just did it cause you felt like it which defeats the point.

Doing an AWARDS CEREMONY at random defeats the point of it. Do you see an awards ceremony halfway through the semester? No, because that's stupid.

I see how it is, fine, we shall postpone it until, I dunno we upgrade our Forum Software?

That sounds like a decent milestone.
