It's the only Mecha anime I like outside Geass >=

But yeah, it's really worth the hype it has, to my shock. Plus the fact 5D's is either a 5.5x as long, lower quality homage or parody or ripoff of this... yeah.

Ive never watched it, but ive read the entire page on Tv Tropes so I understand the plot and it seems pretty cool

I know there are several other characters like him out there, but there's just something about Kamina that really...impacted me. I can't quite place it, but I'll say he's an amazing character for

I'm a bit odd because I'm not a Kamina Fanboy like most fans. I just feel like Simon's the better character, though Kamina is still amazing.
Simon's just... selfless. Everything he does in the series, except the end, is for someone else. Be it Kamina, Kamina's memory, Nia, the people of the city, humanity or whoever.

Having never watched the series only detailed character reviews on TV tropes I have to agree with you.

The great thing about Simon is he's like...the best example of the zero to hero trope.
It's amazing to see how characters make the most out of the hidden potential that exists inside of anyone.
And with Kamina, I think another appeal to him is his influence is what helped shape Simon into the awesomeness he became by the time Anti-Spiral came around.
