    Dark Depths 145

Because, if anyone watched it, an absolutely amazing 30 land concoction took down this weekend's SCG Legacy open, and it has to be one of the most fun decks to watch ever because it just does awesome things. There was actually a bunch of Dark Depths brews showing up throughout the event, but I guess only one could win the whole thing.

Link to the deck, for those interested: http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=62390

This is so different from the Hexmage combo, seems like a fun deck.

Also, nobody's going to spend 30 mana on Dark Depths, right? xD

Thespian's Stage onto a Dark Depths pops the token out straight away, for reference.

I'm not sure if I have any clue what's going on. Awesome deck, but crazy. So what, control with standard Jund stuff (no Abrupt Decay, mind), while trying to play the long game with Grove/Punishing Fire or comboing out with Dark Depths/Thespian's Stage.

But what on earth is he siding Phyrexian Ingester for?

People definitely ticked it down from 10 to 0 manually at the open. Jeff Hoogland did it on camera in one of the earlier Swiss rounds.

Ingester is just a cute card for show and tell. Kills an Emrakul and nets you an 18/18.

Well technically his opponent conceded before he removed 2 counters at EOT, but essentially, yeah.

Jeff's deck was a Junk version, with a few more threats like KotR, and without the Entomb to tutor for everything.

Both versions of the deck are incredibly sweet though.
