no im not forgiving you as punishment youre going to be turned into a generic murderous business suit

This week's episode was by far the best recovery possible for Ryuko. Trigger actually did the (obvious) "coming back to senses" episode plot without horribly blotching it up. We get to see Satsuki caring about her allies again even the ones she has to fight (or in this case spent the first half of this anime's run wanting to fight) and more of the Four Divas. The Ryuko/Senketsu plot wasn't just them being buddybuddy, it was everyone pitching in.

Nui was more annoying than possible this episode and the first scenes before Ryuko goes to fight Satsuki were literally the most annoying of my life. Holy shit that bit with Ryuko and Nui was so stupidly random I actually want to punch Trigger.

Most people flipped their shit at the yuri scene.

    I am one of them.

Having not watched this show, but knowing about the characters, can I get some context on this Yuri? Smile

Ambiguous' full version came out, by the way. I recommend finding it quickly because Youtube is tearing down even the TV sized ones. So you're not going to have any luck there.

Not the episode, the opening. The full opening came out and Youtube's taking everything related to it down/muting it. o-o

    It's a huge spoiler but

    Spoiler:

I feel like Ryuko is always going to cringe that she did that every time she recalls it, if she remembers at all

Also, Ryuko getting all flustered to call Satsuki her onee-chan, that was so damn adorable.

    Spoiler:
We didn't get rid of Nui but it was damn near close enough so I'm completely satisfied. I don't like how Senketsu seems to have no change in appearance, I was hoping for a legitimate evolution change. I don't really like how Ryuko went from "I AM NEVER PUTTING YOU ON AGAIN" two episodes ago to "I AM NEVER TAKING YOU OFF AGAIN". Though, the rest of the buddybuddy this episode was actually really cute and didn't feel so cheesy it made you cringe. The four divas are precious, and I wanted the sisters to hug or something but we got close enough and this is great.

The action was amazing. Ryuko is finally dual-wielding, the thing I had hoped for instead of just fusing the scissors back into one. Mako is back in action, and the Ultima Uniforms are getting finished so the Elite Four will have more screentime that involves them kicking a**. Ryuko/Satsuki team is great and Satsuki having her own variations of Senketsu's mode changes is really cool. I still hope Junketsu talks though, maybe him saying that he feels a little different with Senketsu, his twin brother, in him.

Overall, for a cheesy episode, it finally didn't suck like several others. Trigger's on the right track again, but they're hopefully going to try and have the final battle to be utterly ridiculous. Let's make it as impactful as Gurren Lagann.

    Just watched the episode today
based Mako is back, it's all ogre for Ragyo and her ilk
what's the name of the soundtrack that was playing at the end?
Found it, it's called Kill wa ill I believe.

EDIT: Daily reminder that Matoi never beat Sanageyama in an official duel. He is the one true member of the Elite Four.

    sasuga trigger

    Always deliver a good episode.
    Spoiler:

We Kamui Ragyo now. I knew that rainbow hair was gonna have some use. Didn't like how little we saw of Mako kicking a** though. Aside from the 999 attack.

And of course we have Satsuki-sama's based heel-click.

As much as I enjoyed this ending, it was... not very good, Trigger. Even though I hated Gurren's ending, that's proof of you surely being able to write something better than that random as f*** last bit.

The ending was very weak imo like, Gurren Lagann tier weak.

    ...

Until we get the recap movies where Trigger totally doesn't lose their way.

I was expecting something... more? I mean, I get KlK was supposed to be fast paced, but hot damn the ending was kinda cliche in a sense?

Not "kinda" but "definitely". It almost feels like Trigger had to force the cliche.

They had to. It's Trigger. They had to make it equal to TTGL. "Don't fix what isn't broken", right?
