    Kill la Kill Killlakillpromo

Kill la Kill is a television anime series produced by Trigger. The series, which is Trigger's first original television anime project, is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and written by Kazuki Nakashima, both of whom had previously worked together on Gurren Lagann. The series began airing in Japan from October 3, 2013. Aniplex of America has licensed the anime for a simulcast and a home video release. A manga adaptation by Ryou Akizuki began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine from October 4, 2013.

Kill la Kill is set at Honnōji Academy, a fictional high school in post-apocalyptic Japan that is dominated by its fearsome student council, led by Satsuki Kiryūin. The council members wear special uniforms called Goku Uniforms that grant them superhuman abilities, which they use to oppress the rest of the school's students and staff. Ryūko Matoi, a student wielding a scissor-shaped longsword, transfers to Honnōji Academy in search of the scissor blade's original owner, who killed her father. Defeated by the council after interrogating Satsuki over the killer's identity and whereabouts, Ryūko comes across a sentient sailor uniform named Senketsu, who puts himself on Ryūko. Using Senketsu's special abilities, Ryūko stands up against Satsuki and her henchmen, the Four Elites, to liberate Honnōji Academy from their iron grip and find out the truth behind her father's murder.

This week's episode is extremely important because it teaches people to believe in themselves. It literally takes everyone's whinings about fanservice and destroys them all in one go. Not only that, but we've quickly escaped the "oh no gonna pass out soon we'll finish this next time!" pattern of the first two episodes. The excuse is now negated because of perfected blood control.

If we can break from the "club leader of the week" pattern that's probably set up for us, I'd chalk this up as a masterpiece.

That said, Ryuko and Satsuki really need to shut up and make out already this is painful.

It's also notable that Kill la Kill actually surpasses Gurren Lagann in terms of how quickly everything escalated. It's only episode three.

In addition to that, Mako is the best "Kamina" ever. In that she has nothing similar to Kamina aside from giving the protagonist a needed boost.

Satsuki makes for a good antagonist too. Not completely evil, but very convict. And the fanservice is a plot device. Which other anime uses fanservice as a plot device so well, except for Seikon no Qwaser?

I seriously think it's ridiculously overhyped... If you can give me one good reason why I should watch it, I'll probably watch it.

Until then, I will continue to bash the show for being overrated.../ the fanservice is ridiculous.

If you haven't even seen it you can't judge it for being "overrated". Not only that, but if you're going to judge an anime by fanservice, why watch anime ever?

I'll admit that the plot isn't that good and seemingly generic so far (I think Trigger noticed this too) but the show's mechanics are genuinely interesting and the fights are above top tier. Using fanservice as a weapon has proven creative and the writers have ultimately blown out the "the fanservice is ridiculous" argument with Satsuki's speech in episode three about how believing in yourself and your body should come before caring about the ridicules and judgments of those who think how they express themselves for their goals and ambitions is "lewd" and "unsightly". It looked fillery and more of a "Club Leader of the Week" sequence, but that escalated quickly in a short amount of time.

tl;dr - this isnt halo or your black ops shit stop whining and watch it because most of the hype is legit, especially since this is by the guys who did another super hype worthy anime already

The fact that the fanservice is the /actual/ plot (and a very good one at that) makes this anime very much worth its hype. Most mecha animes have been based on "becoming one with their gundams", and this one is "becoming one with the uniform".

In addition to all of that, the cast is hilarious and Ryuko makes for an awesome protagonist, being a middle term between Yusei's cold personality and Luffy's wacky one.

This is why I cant take the phrase "Overhyped" serious anymore. People will say it about anything even without watching and criticize based on that instead of watching and forming their own opinion on something.

It happens every year to nearly every show.

We're getting deeper into things and the Elite Four are stepping up very quickly. Next episode is going to be pretty extreme with stripper sensei and athlete guy. Junketsu was seen too so Satsuki's doing something.

    Ryuko and Senketsu though <3

Oh look at that character development for the "random"-like cast members and barely any fanservice focus this week. I can taste the salt from the haters, I swear. ... That aside I'm thankful to god Mako didn't die like we all think the Kamina syndrome will have. Next week is going to be the Lordgenome in a car so I hope we're all ready for this.
