I have been waiting to find out what card this art was being used for. Not disappointed. Seriously, bearded sparkley sphinxes are awesome either way. But scry 3? It is a genuine contender to Aetherling, considering it comes down (basically) two turns earlier, you don't have to keep up mana to protect it, and it makes the rest of your game more consistent. Admittedly, Aetherling is just a better clock, BUT WHO CARES. SPARKLEY SPHINX WITH A BEARD.

    Nice. Wrath.

This card is useless with 'ling in the format.

With Aetherling gone... yeah it'll probably still be useless. 3 power is just way too little.

    Best limited bomb, though.

The way it'll be used is a little closer to Restoration Angel than to Aetherling in my opinion, although it's not much of a good comparison either way. Probably closest to Lone Revenant actually (I imagine this is much more playable than Revenant, due to it scrying with an attack trigger rather than a slith trigger, and it having evasion). It accrues value over time, rather than being a fast clock.

You can actually soft-lock people out of the game with this, provided you scry consistently + some card draw. You could potentially just draw counterspells, or removal, incredibly consistently.

It's still a 7 turn clock that dies to wraths and edicts and still lets their removal trade for cards in your hand without replenishing them itself.

Ruining my fun :C Bearded sphinxes are just too tempting to brew with. I shall accomplish it.

Hammer of Purphoros as a haste enabler and something to stem mana flood, then this and a bunch of other crap in some UWR flash build.

The other crap that wants you to play Elspeth or Assemble or Aetherling as finishers in instead anyway?

Sorry but if you're fun's this easy to ruin...

I don't treat this as a finisher. It's somewhere between engine (that *ahem* doesn't produce advantage *ahem*) and utility really.

True that...saying someone run someone else fun by giving it the "Pro Point of View" should be invalid...you run what you run and it doesn't matter whatever everyone else say...what will they do...judge you for playing the cards you wanna play, outside of competitive enviroment?

OT: Sure card is not as good as other options but it is not a bad card and people can run it if they want...I surely will test this in something

I think I may have come across more... harshly (?) than I had intended. I naturally judge a card based on its competitive values, as I am first and foremost a spike. When someone suggests the idea of a card in a deck that's also my natural reaction.

Personally, I do love seeing weird cards do well, and I might even give this thing a go myself just for fun; I don't judge people poorly for them wanting to play a card for fun, but I will if they suggest it in a competitive deck (which saying "in a UWR shell" seems to imply).

I don't even care, I'll play it for the beard.

Seriously, scry 3 everytime it attacks...maybe, EDH?
