    [MtG] Peak Eruption

Post by .Rai on Thu Sep 05, 2013 8:12 pm

Because, seriously, Adam Paquette's art in Theros is literally the best thing ever. It's so frigging gorgeous. In other news, some vague Stone Rain + burn (that's kinda worse with four red checklands rotating out). Still transformative sideboard?

The flavor of it makes sense, but card wise I feel like it would have been cooler for it to work against islands. Enemy Color and all that Smile

But anyway I like the idea of a limited Stone Rain.

And yes, that art is awesome.

By two, you mean 4 red checklands rotating, right?

By two, yes, I mean four. I'm silly and forgot M13 checklands weren't reprinted.

What does this has to do with Checklands?

Checklands promoted play of both shocklands and basic lands (i.e. it's a Stone Rain, but only for Mountains, so you kind of need them to play mountains). Unless the new dual cycle in Theros promotes playing basics, this is significantly less consistent as an answer.

Better multi-color lands, less chance they will play as many basics in their deck, therefor a like 6/60 chance you get to use this rather than the 10/60 they'd have with check lands.

    I think.

Against stuff like Mono-Red, it obviously won't matter, but you're really only playing this to maximise against decks with dodgy mana-bases. Like anything like Naya Midrange playing tons of shocks and checks, you could have blasted one of these out, and deny them of a color.
