Homestuck is a webcomic that everyone should read because it's simply amazing. Explaining the plot would be an exercise in futility, as it's kind of a clusterfuck. Also spoilers. Spoilers everywhere.
It's not that hard to follow, and is actually quite clever at times (i.e. all of them).
Also a lot of people find Act 1 hard to get into and view it as sort of a hard crispy shell that you must break to get to the delicious moist interior, because they say it really picks up around the start of Act 2. I liked Act 1 anyway, however.
