    Cards And Mechanics; Prerelease

    - It's the Enchantment Matters block.
    - Polukranos, World Eater is in Duel Deck: Heroes Vs Monsters (and, by extension, Theros). Picture and cost link. Polukranos can be translated as 'Many skulls'.
    - "Three new mechanics. One for the Heroes, Monsters, and Gods. Five total mechanics in Theros. Including something people have been asking for."
    - At least 1 futureshifted card to be in the set.
    - Vanguard-style gimmick in the prerelease: The Protector, The Philosopher, The Avenger, The Warrior
    - The gods have new frames: Pics!
    - Elite Creatures and challenges. (Picture]Picture, Card Back) (Info here: tweet, tweet, tweet)

    Art and Stuff

Doubt it. It has no reason to actually be an Enchantment Creature.

Talking to Rod earlier, he said it was likely to be Daybreak Coronet and I don't exactly disagree with him. Although, I sorta expect it to be this http://magiccards.info/fut/en/58.html instead,

The condition of the FS card was that the effect would have "something that's only been done" in FS. https://mobile.twitter.com/HobbesQ/status/358667827051380736 That could mean an effect or keyword.

I don't think Theros is the Aura block, just the general enchantment block. Daybreak Coronet cares about Auras too much for that to be high up on the contenders' list. Arcanum Wings is possible, but once again, Auras. With all the Morph speculation, it could be Lumithread Fields. I'm all for Marrow, as Chris said though. Fits the bill well.

Alternatively, one of the 5 mechanics is fateseal, despite half of the designers disliking the mechanic, and Spin into Myth is reprinted.

    Magic: The Gathering @wizards_magic 3h

There is a Future shifted card in Theros.

    Just gonna point this out.

"the second is a mechanic that we thought had potential but didn’t live up to it first time out - it has been mechanically retweaked and given a new name and flavor. The last mechanics is also tied to the gods "

So, there have been a lot of mechanics that didn't Live up. Anything you guys think it could be?

People on Salvation speculate Morph a lot. I have no idea how it was lived up to.

Well I want Grandeur, but honestly I don't know.

    Something similar to aura swap?

Also if Morph didn't live up to its potential, I don't know what did.

I so want Grandeur Smile It would be so much fun.

and I would get to make all my "Persona Blast" jokes endlessly Smile

Aura Swap is something I want just to try to abuse, it's just asking for it.

Grandeus doesn't make sense for the Gods.

"Discard myself" isn't exactly... a normal occurrence.

As a mage the card in your hand holds their power.

You "channel" (Grandeur feels sorta similar in a sense anyway) that card into them again and they do something powerful with that energy.

Seems justifiable from a flavour standpoint to me.

If Grandeur comes back, it won't be the God mechanic (the Gods clearly have the purple frame for a reason, and it's not just going to be because of Granduer). It'll be the Hero mechanic. Didn't really like Grandeur myself, although it worked mechanically.

Morph looks like a prime candidate for a reflavouring. Although the wording of that quote leads me to believe it might not be Morph. We know that MaRo has stated that one of his favourite returning mechanics from the past 3 years worth of sets is the one in Theros. Morph is the highest on MaRo's Storm Scale that fits that criteria.

OH! Reading Salvation I saw someone mention "Epic" and that seems like it would make a lot of sense too.

I wonder what a reworked Epic mechanic would look like.

I don't like Epic, but I like it's idea, and if made a little different I could see it being really cool.
