Color hate seems to be heavily relevant in this core set. Good.

Shame this is a Very Very Very bad card

Althought...maybe just maybe it may work in somewhere...except in standard...in standard it is terrible

Much further away from Flashfreeze than just about anyone would want.

    Goddammit Wizards!

This is the one card so far that isn't great. It is has no evasion and it just stops one thing that already exists, flashfreeze at least counters it. This is just not really worth the investment, I don't even see it in a merfolk build where it could seemingly become more useful.

In Legacy Merkfolk it does work as you can vial it to tap down a Goyf/Deathrites Shaman and still have it beat the crap out the opponent as you buff it with your Lords

Plus in Legacy you play less creatures and except from stuff like Nimble Mongoose pretty much every green creature it hits will be tapped down for a long time

A card that is much better at Legacy than at other formats? Interesting.

There is more reason to run it in Legacy. Though, Merfolk take more of a hold with Submerge, but the fact is that this is, imo, a little better and it also increases a board state. The argument is, that this takes care of the rouge reds while submerge takes care of other things.

Tapping Goyf would probably mean a lot more in Legacy if Merfolk weren't already good against Goyf decks for the most part.
