So this are really fun...Cauldron in particular can become somewhat useful all on its own...XD

It's a Limited combo, so I highly doubt it.
It's an interesting Limited combo, anyway, if you manage to get the cards necessary for it.

Sadly, the Witch is a rare, making everything more complicated.

Festering Newt is a fine card as it is.
The Cauldron would never get taken outside of having the combo.
So if you open the Witch, you could play them all together pretty easily.

The Cauldron is finer than you think...4 Lifes is qute a bit for the non-Existant cost it has

Unless you're saccing the Newt, that cost is really, really high without synergies outside of the point where you're stuck chump blocking.

It Synergises with: Pitchburn Devils, Chandra's Phoenix, Act of Treason (With and Against), Xathrid Necromancer, Grim Return (+Any ETB), Dark Prophecy, Messenger Drake, Angelic Accord, Tokens in general and it also works against removal.

The problem is, it only gains life. If it just did something that even gained slight CA it'd be so much better.

The Same was said about Saruli Gatekeepers in DGM Limited and we were proven so wrong...
Basically, the card has uses and in limited...may be surprisingly good even when it doesn't seems like it will.

Except Saruli Gatekeepers is:
A body, 2/4 at that.
A huge life swing.
No loss in CA.
A brilliant role-player in an easily available archetype.
It's possible that some kind of sac archetype is viable in M14, but there's got to be better outlets.

One of my favourite top-downs recently. Open a Witch, and I'd happily take as many Newts as I could.
Bubbling Cauldron isn't as good, but it's surprisingly a decent sac outlet in EDH if you're that sort of deck. Only a 3-card engine anyway.
