Jesus, that ultimate looks sick in Izzet. +1 is kinda sweet. The 0 one though, unless you have the resources for every card in your deck, it's a bit too risky to me. I could be dead wrong though.

I'm testing it in a variant of URush that I've been crafting, simply because it helps you push for game.

0's good when your curve is low, too.

+0 is kinda Op Oh you have to pay for the spell...now it is meh...unless some sick library manipulation spell is gonna break this but I don't believe so.
Card is balanced as is...I might say at last a decent playable Red Walker (Or chandra to say somthng)

    It looks....decent.

+1 take out a cump blocker or keep a big guy from blocking.

0 to cast something from the top of your deck.

and the ultimate is an ultimate.

Best part of the preview season is people misjudging and/or judging cards too early.

I'll save my opinion for when I playtest her or see her in action.

I wouldn't say it's useless, but it's still got a few problems that affect its usage.

Decided to do a mental rundown of its efficiency this morning when I wasn't dead tired while posting this last night:

+1 is probably her best ability, which is perhaps the biggest issue. Not that adding counters is bad or anything, but when pinging for 1 and preventing blocks for a turn is the best thing a 4 CMC walker can do, it's comparatively bad to someone like Ral Zarek, who's already considered a niche red-walker.

Her 0 works only when you're banking on low-cost/you somehow lost curve and you need mana for the turn, and her ult is...well, let's be honest. You're not really going to use her ult in standard of all formats, especially when Memory Adept is still around for the stall-mill win con. So yes, in general, she's very, very niche, which makes her very, very unappealing.

...But not unusable, because my eyes then travel to RDW, which just got some options for the 4-drop slot recently. Her or Ogre, take your pick. Ogre's the bursty turn 5, Chandra's the push on turn 4.

I'm willing to test her in RDW next to Ogre to confirm this in September when Hellrider cycles out.

RDW doesn't want this piece of shit, it wants real cards that win the game.

This Chandra is actually worse than The Firebrand and Nalaar. Heck, I'd say it's worse than Ablaze too. It's bad on all levels.

I would say it's the best out of the lot.

Clearly, Firebrand is the best Chandra. What deck actually wants this though? Only if you're sad that Hellrider is rotating. And I'm pretty sure that there are better options at CMC 4 for red decks.

It's just way too slow. It's a control card trying to be an aggressive card and failing. Still, as always, there will be at least one deck that finally uses it in Standard. It won't appear before Theros though.

Which is why I'm glad for Roddy's comment.

Seriously, it's possible that this card has a bit more use than is believed in this thread, but definitely not here, where there are immensely better options.

I'll retract the RDW statement because of Ogre Battledriver, but I'm sticking to the side that this Chandra isn't Tibalt-level trash. It, like the new Garruk, will find something in Theros. I'm sure of it.

It's certainly the most likely deck for this Chandra to appear in, but it's too bad for that.

It's not, there's just not much else at the moment that would jump at this, either.

Keyword being moment. I'm still probably going to test her at launch to see what I can do with her.

At least, like with any walker, she's epic in limited and we don't need to playtest her to make sure.

God, I love how people call cards shit before they can even see them in action. JtMS was supposed to be shit too. So was LotV.

    Chill. Give it time.
