17/06/2013 - The day that HUEHUEHUEHUE went too far.

I'm so happy that this is happening. I never thought that I'd live to see the "Facebook Generation" going on the streets and claiming for your rights. It's a good year for Brazil. A year for changes.

Is that a good source for the situation?

From what I'm reading, the protest is about how money should be put towards basic needs above other things and that the police are ridiculously violent in response. I surely hope the protesting doesn't simply break out into a massive riot, and I hope an officer doesn't go beyond a simple injury that could make this even worse. If the demands are met without both sides getting out of hand, everything should work out for the better.

You got the detail right, Cherry, but of course it's beyond just that, and yes, the police is using excessive force in some places, because the government ordered them to end this as soon as possible so people can go back to the alienation.

We are not rioting. We're protesting. The government wants us to riot though, to detour the attention of the problems and blame ourselves.

Is it bad that all I imagine in this topic is an army of Donkey Kongs beating up Mr. Monopoly?

Ridiculously violent and ridiculously immoral. They're even targeting the journalists and breaking their own cars to blame the protesters (WTF?!). It's f****** ridiculous.

Ugh, such news always make me feel really unsettling, especially since my friend is there. How is it in your city Rod?

And at least Brazil has the balls, unlike Poland. All in all, good job, I hope it will solve the problem in some way without getting too harsh.

My city is calm, Klav. There are protests and I'm even thinking about going to one tonight, but those are pacific and I doubt the the government wants the police to use force over here.

Transport prices were increased in Sao Paulo. Sparked the first protests a couple of days ago, and it's just grown from there. About half of the protesters in Sao Paulo at least are there to protest against fares. About 40% though are against the corruption in Brazil.

Brazil, how you fascinate me. Hope you keep safe, Rod, even if your city is calm Razz

This will grow for a while, I think. Definitely the biggest political protest news I've heard from Brazil for a long, long time. The next of the countries to join this 2010+ political revolution, I think.

    We are amazing. c:

I'll be fine, but I'm deciding on joining the walks. Most of my friends are going.

Actually, the people who do have a good knowledge of how the capitalist system works are fighting from all sides. Most people are still ignorant though.
