    Forgiveness

Post by Ruby on Sun Dec 23, 2012 12:26 am

Are you the type of person who easily forgives, even in the most painful situations? Or are you the kind of person to never forgive someone over the smallest thing? Why do you think you're like your answer, or how do you believe you changed your mind into one? How do you view yourself based on how much you forgive people?

    Honest curiosity.

That's actually a really hard question to answer.

Hmm... Well, my truthful answer is I want to be a forgiving person, but... I'm not sure if I can manage it. Hopefully like most things in my life I'll take after my ex, who is the most forgiving person I've ever met. It's something I am overly thankful for. As for why I want to be a forgiving person? I want to be a better person than my view of humanity leads me to believe we all are. I want to be someone who isn't a self centered a** acting on base instincts. And yes, I do think of humans in that fashion.

And I think I'll only be able to know when it comes to something important. Forgiving the tiny stuff is easy, it's forgive life changing mistakes that I want to be able to do. And I'm looking forwards to when I have to do so.

Long story short, I can only remain angry at someone when I'm not looking at their face. The moment I have to confront someone, I either get sick to my stomach or melt.

If I keep someone at arm's length, it's easy to not forgive... But any closer and I can't help but forgive, generally.

I forgive a lot, but I still have a problem with hanging on to what happened. You could say I hold grudges, but that isn't entirely accurate. I forgive cause it tears me apart if I don't with unneeded baggage. I may not forgive the person straight up, but I forgive them to myself and try to let it go.

    This, practically exactly.

Unless I'm incredibly pissed off at someone, then it generally takes like 24 hours and I just can't keep mad at someone, even though when I think it through logically I conclude that I shouldn't forgive whomever. =/

I'm not usually in that kind of situation, and when I am, I am mostly fast in forgiving. It might depend.

I am very quick to forgive. I honestly cannot hold a grudge at all. I never let anything anyone says get to me.

Come to me and sincerely apologize then 9/10 times I will forgive you. Do something to really get on my bad side however then even that will probally not work.

I'd have to be mad at someone in the first place to need to forgive them..
