One Piece is the most overhyped series I have ever seen, even more than Gurren Lagann, and I don't feel One Piece is deserving of said hype.
Popeye, however, is part of my childhood, has the Power of the Spinach, and is just cool in general.

Both. The idea came up in a photo of Luffy lashing out at Popeye in a ship during a storm.
Honestly, I dunno who would win. Popeye is a boss when he eats spinach, which makes him both strong AND a good influence, while Luffy can stretch great lengths, take out an entire group of mermen with their own giant pet sea bull, and withstand the power of a cannon to the chest.
The only downside to Luffy is that he can't swim. Popeye can. So when it comes down to their flaws, Popeye wins.

Popeye is strong already, Spinach is basically doubling said strength.

Having not watched either show and looking up both of their strengths Im going with popeye. He gets stronger just by eating spinach? I can see so many ways to abuse that.
